Macon County Senior Services and the Community Paramedic Program received a grant from the National Council on Aging to provide in-home COVID-19 and influenza vaccinations for adults ages 65 and over. Macon County was one of three counties in the state to receive the grant.

Community Paramedic Joey Gibson will administer the vaccine. For more information or to schedule an in-home vaccination, call 828-349-2058, ext. 2280.
Drive-thru vaccination clinics will be offered later in the fall.

Volunteers needed: Senior Services Director Jennifer Hollifield said they lost about half of their volunteers after the pandemic. Volunteers are needed for the Meals on Wheels program that delivers meals to people’s homes.
